Cimarr\u00f3n es el m\u00e1s destacado grupo int\u00e9rprete de joropo, m\u00fasica y danza tradicional de la regi\u00f3n de los Llanos Orientales de Colombia. El joropo es una mezcla de fiero virtuosismo instrumental, de melod\u00edas ondulantes y ritmos potentes que combinan ra\u00edces hispano- andaluzas, africanas e ind\u00edgenas americanas. Cimarr\u00f3n, liderado por el arpista Carlos Rojas y del cual forma parte la vocalista llanera Ana Veyd\u00f3, busca explorar y experimentar con el rico patrimonio de la m\u00fasica llanera, conservando la esencia de la tradici\u00f3n.<\/p>\n

La poderosa fuerza esc\u00e9nica del joropo de Cimarr\u00f3n, interpretado con arpa, bandolas, cuatro, bajo, voces y percusi\u00f3n (caj\u00f3n, tambora, surdos, platos, bombo y maracas), a los que adiciona la expresiva danza de zapateos, ha cautivado las audiencias alrededor del mundo. Su \u00e1lbum S\u00ed Soy Llanero, grabado para Smithsonian Folkways Recordings, fue nominado a los premios Grammy americanos en 2005 en la categor\u00eda Best Traditional World Music Album y su actuaci\u00f3n en la Feria de la M\u00fasica WOMEX en el 2008 gener\u00f3 los m\u00e1s elogiosos comentarios de la cr\u00edtica internacional especializada. Otro destacado \u00e1lbum del grupo es Catrin Finch & Cimarr\u00f3n YN BYW (Live), grabado en escenarios del Reino Unido en un proyecto de colaboraci\u00f3n con la arpista inglesa Catrin Finch.<\/p>\n
